Drones hit NPZ Slavneft-YANOS in Yaroslavl for 6th time

In the sixth attack, drones struck the Slavneft-YANOS oil refinery plant in Russia’s Yaroslavl. Witnesses reported that the fires were caused by the strikes, and also said that after the attack, the refinery’s flames were visible from the OSINT channels.

According to Astra’s Ukrainian-language monitoring Telegram channel Exilenova+, drones hit the Slavneft-YANOS (Novoyaroslavsky Oil Refinery). The blast wave was reportedly captured on video, and the footage shows the scale of the incident.

The Russian Ministry of Defense said that, in the sixth attack, there were 519 Ukrainian drones, while the number of drones that were intercepted was not specified; it said that the strikes were carried out across more than 20 regions of Russia, as well as across Crimea under Russian occupation. The number of drones that were intercepted was not specified; the ministry said that the refinery was hit.

In the Yaroslavl region, local authorities reported that the air defense units shot down drones. It was also reported that the drones were shot down over Moscow.

According to preliminary information, Novoyaroslavsky Oil Refinery is one of the largest oil refineries in Russia, and it processes about 15 million tons of oil per year. The refinery is owned by Slavneft Oil and Gas Company, which is controlled by Rosneft and Gazprom, with a 99.7% stake.

According to reports, the strikes were carried out not only on the refinery but also on other targets. In particular, it was reported that the attack affected the area of the city of Yaroslavl, as well as targets in Moscow. 25 drones were reportedly shot down without causing damage, while 22 drones were confirmed to have been intercepted over Volodymyr-Zelenkskyi. 19 drones were reportedly shot down over the Yaroslavl region, where Slavneft-YANOS is located.
