Bentley to present its first electric car Torcal 23

Bentley has named Torcal for its upcoming first electric vehicle. The premiere is scheduled for 23 years.

Torcal is said to be the fourth model line of Bentley, with the company’s plans to make it an electric SUV, smaller than the gasoline-powered Bentayga. The materials state that the vehicle could be built on the platform of the Porsche Cayenne Electric.

Meanwhile, according to the publications, Torcal is to be based on El Torcal de Antequera in Andalusia, Spain. The materials also note that Bentley’s name comes from the Latin word “torquere,” which means “twist,” and the related word torque has the same root.

Ars Technica’s materials say that Bentley will develop its first electric vehicle and run it on the Nürburgring. The publications also note that CEO Bentley Frank-Steffen Walliser said that Torcal will be “a new kind of luxury” for the brand’s new vehicles.
