An Austrian court sentenced two men to life imprisonment for terrorism for killings, citing that they were involved in attacks against the regime of Bashar Assad, according to Reuters.
In Ukraine, the General Intelligence Directorate — the Security Service of the Republic of Ukraine — said that the two men were convicted for murders committed from 2011 to 2013. The agency said that, based on the evidence, the men planned and carried out terrorist attacks using firearms against civilians, in particular by carrying out an attack with an electric current.
The court also found that the other defendant, Musa Abu Rukbah, was involved in the murders, which were carried out under the “Angel of Death,” prosecutors said. The materials indicate that the defendant was involved in the killings, and the court determined that he was responsible for the deaths.
The court also found that, based on the evidence, the men could have prevented the killings, but failed to do so.
