Valkyries overcome Tempo 96-79 with 24 points from Salaun

In a WNBA game on Sunday, Golden State Valkyries defeated Toronto Tempo 96-79. Daniel Salaun finished with 24 points, while Berton had 17 points and six rebounds.

Salaun made 9 of 15 shots, including three-pointers. Vonna hit Golden State ahead 66-59 with 1:30 left in the third quarter, but the team did not allow Toronto to score more than 26 points in the period, holding them to 8 points in the game against Toronto.

Berton made a three-pointer with 6:55 remaining, and with 6:14 left he made a steal that led to a three-point play by Salaun, which put Valkyries ahead 80-68.

For Toronto Tempo, 19 points were scored by Nara Sabelli. The team also had a strong presence on the boards, as Tempo outrebounded their opponent 10-11 in total rebounds.

According to AP, Golden State added another run after a steal by another player that helped turn the game around with a two-point advantage. How much did the first Valkyries lead 44-31 after the first quarter, but Toronto responded with a 12-0 run to cut it to 44-43.

In the next quarter, the Valkyries shot 50% from the field, going 5-for-8 on three-pointers, and outscored their opponents 25-20. What did Stokes say about Golden State: he made a block-shot on the first at the start of the game in Toronto, then he sealed the two-shots lead with a three-pointer; Stokes finished the game with 11 rebounds.
