The company says the battery should allow the car to go up to 100% without any noticeable degradation.
The materials also mention a new electric motor called “APP350”, which, according to the company, is said to be built with a focus on efficiency, with a smaller mass and a lower overall weight, while changing the “splash” mass. In addition, the company claims that the 58kWh LFP battery pack is expected to be able to deliver a range of 52kWh to 79kWh NMC.
The efficiency of the A2 E-tron is said to be driven by the “efficiency drive” system developed by Denmark and Sweden. According to the test results, the car’s power consumption was 5.4mpkWh; it is also said that in winter it can still maintain a range of close to 300 miles for a 58kWh battery. Another material notes an interesting detail: the car’s test ride (including the Øresund Bridge) at an average speed of 33mph produced a fuel economy figure of 5.45 mi/kWh.
In terms of the prototype test drive, it is also worth noting that the car’s handling is said to be influenced by sport suspension, which, according to the materials, helps reduce the need for braking, and also helps reduce noise with Bridgestone Turanza 6 tyres. The materials also point out that the car is driven with sport suspension, and that in the cabin there is a low level of road noise, which is why the car is said to feel quiet.
One published description says that, according to Audi, it is possible to reduce aerodynamic drag at speeds above 62mph, and also to achieve a drag coefficient of 0.24Cd. It is also claimed that Audi’s LFP battery pack is integrated in a way that reduces weight distribution, so the car’s ride remains stable, while Bridgestone tyres measuring 235/45R19 are used.
Like the same Audi A2, the new A2 is expected to be based on the same platform. The company says that Audi’s A2 will be sold with a starting price of around $30k to $40k. In the UK, the A2 E-tron is expected to cost around £30,000, with details to be confirmed.
According to the materials, the new Audi A2 E-tron 58kWh will have 188bhp, 258lb ft of torque, RWD and a single-speed gearbox, and the company claims a range of 350 miles at a consumption rate of 5.5mpkWh. The materials also say that the price is expected to be around $33,000, with the Renault Megane E-Tech and Volvo EX30 as direct competitors.
