  • Draper received a wild card for Cincinnati; he will also play the US Open, with a match-day decision still possible at Flushing Meadows.

British tennis player Jack Draper beat Terensu Atmane in a National Bank Open match against the backdrop of a broken thumb.

Draper won his first match after the injury, with the cause of the problem being a wrist issue. The British player, in turn, said that he had had a problem with his wrist during Wimbledon and that he had been playing through it in Washington.

In his match, Draper won 6-3, 2-6, 6-2. The match lasted three sets. The material notes that the injury was not serious, and that the thumb was broken.

Draper received a wild card for the Masters 1000 in Cincinnati, which starts next week. The US Open, for which he also received a wild card, begins in 30 days, and the injury may not allow him to play.

Before the US Open, Draper has an injury to his thumb at Flushing Meadows. The match in Canada was scheduled for the next day, but he said he would be able to play at the tournament.

It is also noted that Draper has been forced to withdraw from the tournament after the injury. In Montreal, the British tennis player Jack Draper beat another Frenchman, Adrian Mannarino.
