On June 6, Russian drones attacked Yaroslavl, according to OSINT monitoring, which said the drones hit the area and that the attack involved a fuel depot. The report also said that Russian Telegram channels described the attack.
The Ukrainian OSINT monitor Mikhail Dvoryaev said in his Telegram channel that at 2:37 p.m. the drones were recorded heading toward the direction of Moscow. According to him, the attack continued for some time, and at the same time, the drones were heard over the city of Yaroslavl. He said the drones were later seen near the Moscow region.
Shortly after 4:00 p.m., OSINT Telegram channels reported that the drones were striking in Yaroslavl, citing the posts’ content. Then, at around 7:00 p.m., the channels said the information was confirmed and that the attack continued.
According to Ukrainian OSINT monitors, the drones were reportedly launched from Telegram channels Supernova+ and Exilenova+, while the Astra channel also posted information. The drones were said to have hit the oil refinery plant in Yaroslavl region, which is associated with Slavneft. The monitors also shared photos from the scene taken from several angles.
Dvoryaev also reported that the region received “a record number of drones” — 88 drones — and said the air defense systems were operating. He said that the drones were later seen in the Moscow region, and that the attack continued for several hours.
Moscow region Governor Sergey Sobyanin said on Telegram that the air defense systems were operating and that the drones were intercepted. He said that there were no casualties. The governor also said that the drones were intercepted over the Moscow region.
