German police are investigating an object that, according to initial reports, was on the runway at Lipsko/Halle when a plane crash happened. According to German media, the object may have been a drone, although it has not been confirmed. The aircraft struck the object, and the plane’s crash followed.

Shortly before the crash, the plane’s onboard camera recorded an object, which, according to the report, was identified as a drone. The material also shows that the aircraft’s collision with the object was not an accident, but rather a deliberate act.

In the meantime, there is no evidence that the object was a drone, and the investigation is ongoing. Investigators are trying to determine what exactly happened before the crash.

Alexander Dobrindt, a member of the Bundestag, said that the claim that a drone was involved was “a ridiculous claim.” He said that it is not possible to determine, based on the available footage, whether the object was a drone or something else.

Green Party lawmaker Katharina Drögeová said that the incident shows that the country’s right-wing politicians are spreading “dangerous misinformation.” She said that the investigation into the crash must be carried out without political interference.

Lipsko/Halle is served by international transport routes, including the air corridor through which the plane was flying. According to the report, the object could have been a drone, which is why German media are now investigating the incident.
