The Uganda football federation is investigating the death of SC Villa player David Ovorі, which, according to initial information, took place after he collapsed at home in Kampala. The federation said that it has launched an investigation into the circumstances of the incident.
According to the report, Ovorі collapsed after coming into contact with paving stones, which he had been walking on, and he was then taken to hospital. It is also stated that the player died from a heart attack.
SC Villa’s sports club said it is investigating the incident and that it has been in contact with the relevant authorities. The federation of Ugandan football (FUFA) also expressed condolences to Ovorі’s family and to Uganda Cranes, the team he played for.
According to information from the federation, Ovorі fell ill during the match and died shortly after. The federation said that the player’s death was being investigated.
