President Volodymyr Zelensky said that the development of Ukraine’s ballistic missile program is tied to the Freyja project. In particular, Ukraine expects to achieve the results of this project in 2026–2027.
As Ukrinform reports, this is what Zelensky said in a Telegram post. In it, he noted that the next stage requires specific steps for the successful implementation of the program.
Zelensky highlighted that the key elements of the program include not only the development of ballistic missile capabilities, but also, among other things, the following: “Radar for the acquisition of targets, the command-and-control system, the Brave1 command system, and also the development of the production capabilities of the Ukrainian defense industry.”
The president also drew attention to the key issue, namely the need to obtain critical components, including those necessary for the effective operation of defense systems against ballistic threats. Zelensky also said that the material includes a discussion with partners about the next steps to be taken to ensure the successful implementation of the program, which is aimed at protecting Ukraine from missile threats.
In addition, the material states that the next stage involves cooperation with partners regarding PAC-2 and PAC-3. Zelensky added that the results will be reported by the Ministry of Defense and the Ministry of Strategic Industries in communications with partners.
